Comets Unveil New Uniforms




The New York Comets unveiled new uniforms today. The uniform changes align with the move into the new Mindstorms Place later this year. The Comets will debut the new look Saturday night when they host the Killer Whales in what will be the final game in the Spacedome, the Comets' home throughout their 10-year history.

League to Return to Original Alignment For 2012-13



The LHL will officially return to the divisional alignment used from 2002-2006 for the 2012-13 season. The purpose of the realignment will be to reduce travel. The divisions will still send 3 teams each to the playoffs with the division winners receiving first-round byes. The divisions will be as follows:

2010-11 Season Highlights


  • Longtime New York captain Buenos Frederno is traded to the Celtic Warriors.
  • Joe Murdock becomes only the second player in league history to score 500 goals.
  • Dave Westover, after a 3-year retirement, returns to the Dallas Wilderness.
  • Warriors All-Star defenseman Corey Clark suffers a career-ending leg injury in a December game against the Wilderness.
  • The Toronto Freezer's Darren Reid, in his first full season back from a concussion, scores 100 goals.
  • The Freezers finish first overall, earning a first round bye.
  • The Vancouver Killer Whales play poorly down the stretch, costing them a playoff spot.
  • The Dallas Wilderness take top spot in the West Division on the last day of the season.
  • The first round of the playoffs feature two big upsets as the New York Comets defeat the Montreal Warriors in 5, while the LA Admirals shock the Bulls in 7.
  • In the Semifinals, the Freezers sweep the Comets while the Wilderness knock out the Admirals in 5.
  • In game 1 of the Finals, Nathan Barker's two goals lead the Freezers in a comeback win over the Wilderness.
  • In game 2, the Freezers once again come back, this time from a 4-0 deficit, to take a 2-0 series lead.
  • After taking game 3 6-4, the Freezers finally complete the sweep, winning their 4th Lego Cup and their 3rd in 4 years.
