The New York Comets bid farewell to the Spacedome Saturday night, playing their final game in the storied arena in a 3-1 loss to the Vancouver Killer Whales. Three former Comets took part in the closing ceremonies including Antonio Depepperoni, the scorer of the Comets first goal in 2003, Aaron Juplacy, the Comets first captain, and Mark Howard, the Comets first #1 goaltender. The Spacedome, built in 1955, was home to the Comets for all of their 10 seasons in the LHL and will be replaced by the new Mindstorms Place in December.
